Harry Potter Movie
Diane and I went out to see the late showing of the new Harry Potter movie Friday night. We had to figure out where the theater was while we were cutting the show time closely. I sent Diane ahead while I found a parking space, but all turned out well and I made it in in time to see the start of the film. So ads in movie houses reward procrastination.
And the film itself made a nice bit of entertainment. It seems that the direction in this outing has gone in the direction of more straightforward story-telling and less gratuitous eye-candy. Oh, sure, there is eye-candy, but it seems to me that it is deployed more strategically in service of the story in this film than in some of the previous outings. Harry Potter movies are not standalone entertainment, though; you really need to have read the book recently. It essentially is a sequence of animated illustrations to accompany the reader’s experience. Otherwise, the plot would be exceedingly difficult to discern from the few clues given. This is, I think, necessary in a feature-length film. In order to present Rowling’s story in sufficient detail for those unfamiliar with the particular book would require treatment at the length of a mini-series instead.
One nice thing was that Diane and I were able to stay snuggled next to each other through the whole movie. I don’t think that I’ve been to a theater in the past 22 years where I haven’t had to excuse myself for a personal intermission/trip to the men’s room, so this is a welcome change. Ulcerative colitis is quite disruptive of some of the most mundane social rituals. My regards to my surgeon.

i just wnted 2 say that just because filming strts in october dsnt necessarily mean they will ave finished casting because scenes arent filmed in order so they dnt need 2 have all prts cast by then (altho they probably will)

Yep Im keepin my dreams alive…but not for Romilda lol. I think shes been cut and i think theyve started filming now :( I think shes been cut as shes not essential to the plot. i spose they see it as either cuttin Romilda or cutting part of the memories wth harry and dumbledore (possibly its jus an idea lol!) iv been chatting to evanna lynch and she has said they already have a girl to play romilda vane. but.. she is a realy bad actor so there looking for someone else..mainly brown hair and brown eyes. if you are interested in being her, you CANT audition, you have to either ring, send a video or write a letter to leavesden saying who you are, why you want the part, how you think you will be good at it and your your address. plus.. you HAVE to have an agent.

I was hoping to get an extras part in Half Blood Prince but it was too late to send a letter to the casting offices.
Sorry that none of you guys got any parts but there is always Deathly Hallows to go for.
Does anyone know when would be a sutible time to send the letter to the casting offices for an extras part in Deathly Hallows? I am 14 years old now but will be 15 when the filming will probably start. Would there be any chance of getting an extras role if i am 15.

i sent my letter to fiona weir at Twickenham studios, and got a reply, so i think that is the right address.
I dont think filming will stat for a while, as they just started fiming HBP in october. I am also not sure to whether they go to agents for the extra’s, but if anyone has any information on that i would love to know!! I would definatly audition for the extra’s! so a date would be great!!!

Hey Jess, i think there’s no new roles in Deathly Hallows film, only extra.
Yeah, there’s a chance of getting an extras role if u are 15.
