Well, I really hope that there will be another shot at Dembski for two reasons. First, I agree that Wes could advise a smart lawyer with the ability of Rothschild in a way that would destroy Dembski. Second, until there is a case taken to a higher court, the Dover Trial will not be definitive.

I think the bastards got lucky in Dover- they only lost.

Another point of interest:

Buell bragged (under direct examination) about how he refused to sell “Pandas” to at least two school districts because they had adopted similar policies to that of Dover. He also admitted (under cross-examination)that he had received and scanned, among many other news reports, a NYT article from mid-January 2005 that clearly detailed the Dover policy as similar to the other policies. Finally, he admitted (under questioning from the judge) that he knew by January 2005 that “Pandas” was the book in question. Those three facts, when combined, indicate that he knew, or should have known, the likely impact of the case on the book back in January, before discovery had even gotten into full swing.

In any case, intervention requires that the intervenor meet four requirements; timeliness is just the first of four, and FTE failed on all 4 requiments.

Nice way of putting it. I’m sorry Dembski chickened out. It would have been a lot of fun. Dembski’s self-importance would make him even funnier than Behe was. Though I doubt any would have done it, the mere thought of a cross-examiner ‘accidentally’ addressing Dembski as “Mr Newton” is just too delicious.

As a lawyer, Luskin is an “officer of the court” and is not supposed to lie.

As a purportedly religious person, Luskin is bound by the Ninth Commandment and is not supposed to lie.

Why do you suppose he lies? They all lie – Buckingham, Bonsell, Buell and Luskin.

The fraudulently-named “Foundation for Thought and Ethics” DID have their day in court – and Jon Buell lied – repeatedly.

Judge Jones said in his decision “It is ironic that several of these individuals, who so staunchly and proudly touted their religious convictions in public, would time and again lie to cover their tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID Policy.”

ID stands for “Intellectual Dishonesty.”

This needs to receive as much publicity as possible. Thanks for this article.

As usual, Luskin spins his tales in hopes that nobody will check up on him. Well, he is after all writing for ignorant rubes, and most likely they won’t check into anything that comes out of DI.

Good work on your part, and thanks for your efforts and your entertaining and informative post.
