The “Vise Strategy†Undone
Barbara Forrest’s new article in CSICOP starts with William Dembski’s “vise strategy” and proceeds through the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial and its aftermath to show how the Discovery Institute found itself unable to control the case. The DI withdraw three of its fellows from the case, collaborated with the Thomas More Law Center to try to keep Forrest from testifying, and after the decision has been whining about the outcome. Far from trying to get “Darwinists” into the “vise” of forced testimony and cross-examination, the DI’s actual strategy in the trial was attempted exclusion of Forrest.
