Whisper is a red-tailed hawk flown by a friend of ours. We went out one day to take our birds after rabbit, but once Whisper was loose, she decided it was a great day for soaring and touring parts of the San Diego River bottom. We spent the next day and a half tracking Whisper around. The pictures below show some of the places where we spotted Whisper during that time. We would get Whisper in sight, then she would move. We would pull out the telemetry again, get into her vicinity, and tried to visually locate here. In some places this was easy, and in others it was quite difficult. In the end, Whisper was back with us (last picture), so all's well...
